Stittsville Main Street: Looking towards the future

Photo:  Jane's Walk along Stittsville Main St, 2016

Can Stittsville Main St. be Ottawa's next great neighbourhood street? Stittsville's main street is on the verge of a rebirth. On this walk, we’ll look at the street’s role in the old railway village, we’ll have a look at where it stands today, and we’ll talk about opportunities and obstacles as it begins to be transformed into a walkable, people-oriented main street.

Location
Route

The walk will start at Village Square Park at the intersection of Stittsville Main St. & Abbott St, along the Trans-Canada Trail. We'll walk north to Wintergreen Drive, cross over to the west side of Stittsville Main St.,  walk south to Carleton Cathcart St., cross back to the east side of Main St., and then walk north to return to our starting point.
