Visit the Medieval Village of Felfrost

Felfrost LARPers in costume at a winter gathering.
Did you know that, since 2007, a group of live-action role players has been hiding in plain sight in Hog's Back Park? They gather every Sunday afternoon to animate Felfrost, which is what they call the Ottawa chapter of Amtgard, a Live Action Role-playing Game (LARP) centred around Medieval fighting and magic.
Felfrost is part of The Kingdom of the Nine Blades (Ontario): think Dungeons & Dragons or World of Warcraft — but live, in-person, and free for everyone.
The Amtgard LARP we play is very inclusive and events are held to showcase that. AmtPride is one of those events held every year. During May is Spring Muster where we try to encourage those not so active during the winter to come out. We have the Amtgard Food Fight in September to raise money for shelters and food banks. Amtgard is a registered non profit in Canada and the United States. The are 324 active parks like Felfrost across North America where more than 3000 players come out weekly.
This walk will be a leisurely stroll through "town", with stops to meet members who'll share about their participation in the LARP and the skills they've acquired in sewing, armour-making, weapon construction, crafting, combat, and leadership. Feel free to create your own Persona and choose a favourite class before you arrive (mine is Bard!). Joining the foam-weapon combat is optional and requires a signed waiver — we'll have plenty on hand.
Beyond the game itself, Felfrost has been a proud part of the Ottawa community for nearly two decades, supporting the Ottawa Food Bank and cheering on runners at the Ottawa Race Weekend.
Come escape into a world of fantasy, fun, and adventure!
