Guided Tours of Beechwood Cemetery—Eastern Tour
The eastern half of Beechwood Cemetery is rich with cultural and military history. Participants will visit some of the cemetery’s largest community sections and walk among the headstones of military, RCMP, Ottawa Police, and CSIS veterans. This tour offers visitors the opportunity to learn about the unique features of Beechwood and the stories of lesser-known, but deeply influential, individuals who helped shape Canada.

Route

Enter the cemetery from the St. Laurent Gate, which is just north of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church (400 St Laurent Blvd). Where the road forks, you will see a red pavilion styled like a pagoda.

We'll meet near the Red Pagoda. From there, we will take a gentle walking route through the eastern side of Beechwood cemetery grounds, looping back to our starting point.

Accessibility: The tour is at a gentle pace along paved paths, with a few small rolling hills.
