Building LeBreton

Come explore LeBreton Flats, the site of one of the most exciting redevelopment projects in Canada. The walks will be led by the National Capital Commission staff behind the project. Through the Building LeBreton project, the NCC will transform this 29-hectare site into a landmark destination and community filled with parks and amenities. We'll view the progress made so far and learn about the Master Concept Plan vision that will shape the evolution of this historic site over the coming decades.

The walk is offered in English and French at the following times:

9:00 am, 11:00 am, and 1:00 pm (English)

10:00 am, 12:00 noon, and 2:00 pm (French)

You must sign up to attend this walk. Sign up through the Open NCC website

Location
Route

We'll meet on Vimy Place, west of the Canadian War Museum, just where the connecting path to the Ottawa River Pathway West meets Vimy Place. From there, we will proceed west along the recreational pathway along the river with several stops along the way before heading back east along the recreational path that goes under the Kichi Zībī Mīkan (previously the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway), making several stops along the way. The walk will end near Pimisi Station.

The site is accessible by car, active mobility and public transportation.

There is paid street parking on neighbouring streets and paid parking at the Canadian War Museum.

Bike racks are available nearby in front of the Canadian War Museum, at Pimisi station, or at Pīndigen Park.

The total walking distance is about 1 kilometre.
