We'll meet at the south end of Vanier Road at the river bank. The walk will first take the bike path along the river, west and east of the meeting point, and then go along streets in the neighbourhood (Martel, Rosenes, Deschênes, Vanier).
Howard is President of the Deschênes Residents' Association. The Deschênes Rapids have inspired him for 25 years. For the last several years, with other colleagues, he has been documenting and popularizing the heritage of the rapids.
