Take a stroll in this Centretown neighbourhood and learn to identify edible trees, shrubs, bushes and herbs. Learning to appreciate edible trees and their gifts are steps toward deeper connections with community and nature. Participants will be given a handout describing trees and bushes with edible fruit.
We will go north along Cartier, east on Frank, north on McDonald, west on Lewis, through Minto Park, and south on Cartier back to McLeod.
Rosemary Tayler looks after the landscaping and compost bins at the Nanny Goat Hill Community Garden. She also teaches courses on chemical-free agriculture.
Gail McGuire organizes the outdoor landscaping at 125 McLeod St, and has introduced a large collection of herbal plants for the neighbourhood to gather.
