Discover the rich history of Vanier, formerly called Eastview, a neighbourhood of Ottawa that used to be an independent town. Vanier is rich in cultural diversity and is known for having a large French speaking population. The beautiful murals placed along the streets of Vanier tell us the stories of its people.

We will walk east on Montreal Road, past the Vanier Parkway, St. Margaret's Church, many local restaurants and business, the Wabano Centre, ending near the intersection of Montreal Rd. and Granville St./Lafontaine Ave.

About the walk leader

Hélène Boulay has been the programs coordinator at Museoparc Vanier since 2014. She is an experienced historical interpreter, having worked for many cultural and tourism organizations in Canada and abroad.
