Burritt’s Rapids: Frontier Fraternalism: The Rideau Masonic Lodge #25 Collection at the Canadian Museum of History
In 1984, the Canadian Museum of History acquired the lodge furniture and regalia of Rideau Masonic Lodge # 25, which operated in Burritt’s Rapids between 1815 and 1845. This presentation will recount the fascinating story of these artifacts and their role in community-building in Burritt’s Rapids two centuries ago.
Current Masonic members will be on hand to provide feedback/knowledge about the artifacts and the local Lodges.
After the presentation, the Mason's Lodge will be open for visitors Saturday from 11:30 am --3:00 pm and again on Sunday afternoon 1:30 --3:00 pm.
