Ottawa in One Room

Ottawa in One Room,
Jessica Aylsworth & Jon Booth
Fabric, ink, video projection, & sound
2013
Ottawa in One Room is an experiential installation that invites the viewer into a whimsical space filled with glimpses of Ottawa projected onto floating panels of translucent fabric, which combine and re-combing as they overlap and the panels move with the air currents. The viewer is able to move through this hybrid space of memories to see all the different projections and drawings. While moving through the space, viewers also put themselves into the scenes as images project onto their bodies and their shadows fall into the next image.
"Our goal is to encourage viewers to interact with the work & suspend their disbelief to relate the images to their own recollections. By moving through the space viewers also influence other's experiences by altering the viewing surfaces. Interacting with the space, viewers will hopefully collectively expand a single perspective of Ottawa into a hybrid composition. We would love to include some of your videos, visit the website to find out how."
