Rideau Falls at the Ottawa River

At the confluence of the mighty Rideau and Ottawa Rivers, with tucked-away urban lakes and ponds close-by, the area of Beechwood Village offers unique natural and cultural wonders. We'll learn about these by walking (and bus hopping) to three special locations. This 90-minute tour, promises to surprise and enlighten. After the walk, come back to the Centre with us for free coffee.

The tour will begin with a walk along the Rideau River, then we'll hop onto waiting buses for a short ride to the Ottawa River Pavillion for a stroll, then take another short bus hop to MacKay Lake and the Caldwell-Carver conservation area. Finally, the buses will bring us back to McKay St. for coffee and conversation at New Edinburgh House.

Your guide Tobi Nussbaum is the Chair of the Beechwood Village Alliance, an informal "friends of" group dedicated to making Beechwood a more dynamic main street for the community.
