Walk for Your Health

Walk with Ottawa Public Health Staff to learn about the benefits of walking and tips/tools to help you walk more and stay safe.

Join us on a 2-km walk in and around Parliament Hill. Learn about the benefits of walking and tools available to make it fun and interesting to walk every day. Learn about pedometers and where you can borrow one for free. You'll also get tips for choosing a good walking route and staying safe on the roads.

Today's walk route will take us:

  • Starting at the Main branch of the Ottawa Public Library, turn left (north) on Metcalfe Street
  • Cross Wellington Street and do a loop around the Parliament buildings (fully around the buildings)
  • Come back out to Wellington St and turn left
  • Cross Wellington at Metcalfe St and continue down the hill until we arrive back at the Main branch of the Ottawa Public Library
About the walk leader

Kelly and Penny both work for Ottawa Public Health as part of the Healthy Living Team. In their jobs, they work to promote active, healthy lifestyles and the many benefits of walking and active transportation.
