Major Points of Interest With Tulips!

The giant spider sculpture at the National Gallery, by the artist Louise Bourgeois..
They say most New Yorkers have never visited the Statue of Liberty. If you find yourself in a similar situation as an Ottawan who hasn't yet visited the main sights in town, this is the walk for you!
The walk will take you to the major points of interest in and around the ByWard Market and Wellington St. At our starting point in front of the National Gallery, we'll take a close look at the playful sculpture of a large spider, Maman, by sculptor Louise Bourgeois. Next, we'll cross Sussex Dr. to Notre-Dame Basilica. If you haven't been inside the church to see the gorgeous interior, it's a must! Going inside from busy Sussex Drive is like entering another world. Next is Major's Hill Park for the tulips. Then onto the recently re-envisioned Kiweki Point overlook (formerly Nepean Point). A quick stop inside the iconic Chateau Laurier Hotel, then up to Parliament Hill, down to the National War Memorial, and, if we have time, we'll walk through the National Arts Centre. Otherwise, we can view the Rideau Canal before ending in the Byward Market.
If we're lucky, some of the tulips will be blooming in anticipation of the Tulip Festival taking place a bit later in May.
The walking tour is in English & covers approximately 2 km.
