Just Food Farm

Just Food Farm is a community farm that hosts Food Forests, Commons gardens, a seed library, workshops and training, plant-a-row gardens, start-up farm businesses, an apiary, children’s programs, alternative energy, and more.  This is a unique space in the NCC Greenbelt, partnering with many groups across Ottawa.  Bring your questions and concerns about food  and food security, and we'll talk together about our connections to food and ideas for continuing to build Ottawa as a city of Good Food for all.

We'll meet near the Red Barn at Just Food Farm, 2391 Pepin Court, Gloucester.  The farm is on the west side of Blackburn Hamlet, just off Innes Rd near where Innes diverges from the Bypass.

Wear boots for mud on the farm. We will be walking throughout the farm.

Free parking (drive past the Red Barn) or arrive by bus #94.  The farm is also accessible from the bike paths.

Note:  While the barn is wheelchair accessible (including washroom) for public indoor events, walking around the farm is not accessible as it is on unpaved, uneven roads and pathways.

(Consistent with the farm setting, there is an outhouse available.)

Au sujet du guide

Moe Garahan is the Executive Director of Just Food, a non-profit, regional community development organization.  The Just Food Farm is only one of their projects.  While all Just Food programs serve city-wide, Just Food is happy to work out of their Blackburn Hamlet community farm as a head office, and would like to share this unique place with the broad community while discussing any and all aspects of food.
