Discover the Ottawa Tool and Seed Library

The Ottawa Tool Library (OTL) is part of the exploding 'sharing economy' which provides city dwellers access to tools that they might not otherwise have access to, can't afford, or simply do not want to purchase for themselves.

The tool library lends out hand tools and power tools for your DIY projects around the home and garden. Find out how the tool library with its low-cost membership fee eliminates the barrier to inclusion, making it a community hub where people can share their resources whether that means tools, time, space, skills, or ideas, so that everyone becomes more inspired, productive, and empowered.

The tool library now also hosts Ottawa’s first Seed Library and you will also meet Seed Librarian Karen Moore from the Ottawa Horticultural Society who has set up this amazing resource, just in time for spring planting.

Come and see our vast inventory (1,600+ tools to lend) and find out how the tool library and the seed library can help you tackle the projects you want to accomplish.

The Tool Library is co-located with Makerspace North, which is located in Bay 216 on the second level of 250 City Centre Ave, right above Art-Is-In Bakery.   We'll meet just inside the entrance.

The walk is indoors.

For those who need close access, a few parking spots are available on the second level of City Centre.  Take the ramp on the south side of the building up to the second level, and enter via Bay 216 “Makerspace North.”   There are stairs on the south end of the building to come up from the lower parking lot.

Parking on the ground level is free but you need to register by putting your licence plate number in the system.

Makerspace North is a bit tricky to find.  For your convenience, a map showing our location within City Centre is below.
