Public Spaces? How Street Parking Works in Ottawa / Westboro

Community activist and storyteller Dennis Van Staalduinen has learned a lot of surprising facts in some recent work with the City of Ottawa Parking Service. In this walk, which is a lead-up to an official City public consultation meeting at the Churchill 2 PM, he will offer a primer on City parking policy, and will explore the challenges and public space implications of street parking. He’ll also share the latest data on Parking demand in Westboro as we walk through the village. Dennis is looking for community feedback on a broader range of options to address parking problems and to create a better public realm experience in Westboro for pedestrians, shoppers, cyclists, and neighbours.
