St. Luke's Labyrinth -'Walk as One at 1'

Labyrinth Walkers at St. Luke's

The Labyrinth is an ancient pattern used to guide walking meditation. This past Autumn (2013), St Luke’s opened to the community a beautiful new Petite Chartres seven-circuit, laser-cut marmoleum labyrinth installed into the floor of the sanctuary. Having the Labyrinth situated in the sanctuary has allowed many new possibilities for collaborations between the labyrinth ministry and the music, art, education, and outreach programs at St Luke’s. A new group of volunteers continues the 6 year tradition led by Vanessa Compton and Barclay McMillan, to welcome 'all without exception' to 1st Friday evening meditation walks. This walk coincides with World Labyrinth Day – 'Walk as One at 1," making it a community exploration and celebration at the local and global level, like Jane’s Walk.

We'll begin with a presentation on the meaning and history of the Labyrinth, after which people will be gven an opportunity to walk the Labyrinth.
