Early Overbrook: Introducing the George Sparks Family and neighbourss

Photo:   Sparks House, Overbrook.

The entire walk will stay in the area just east of the Rideau River. This is where the first pioneering families settled in what is now known as Overbrook. We will look at the places they called home and their contribution to the development of Overbrook and Ottawa.

We start in the 1800's with the George Sparks family: their endeavours, disagreements, triumph and tragedy. We will walk by the remaining Sparks residence from this period and also remember some of their neighbours through stories and anecdotes.
