South Keys: Visioning for South Keys Transit Plaza

Visioning Exercise for the South Keys Transit Plaza, Saturday, September 24, from 10:0011:00am

This Saturday, Jane's Walk leader Matthew Pinder will be part of a group leading a community walk at the South Keys Transit Plaza. The goal of the event is to collect input from community members on the layout and priorities for the transit plaza. The plaza will be the first park at South Keys Centre.

The walk will take place on the proposed site. We will lay out the rough proposed dimensions of the new space with chalk and pylons, with discussion stations set up to discuss themes of integration with transit, park amenities, and play space, and how these will tie into the proposed adjacent development.

Better South Keys Centre is a community coalition advocating for the enhancement of South Keys Centre. The first public event we held in April 2022 included a walking tour of South Keys Centre and attracted fifty attendees. The South Keys Transit Plaza is one of our key focus projects at the moment. It was discussed on our blog, have met with the developer and City staff, and ran a survey over the summer to collect input.
