Trees & Traffic: Elgin Street Redesign

Photo:  Elgin Street

Elgin Street is a marquee street and focal point for Ottawa. It is Sen’s Mile, home to many businesses and a community hub. The process of redesigning Elgin Street is underway and the Community Association has been working diligently to ensure the street lives up to its potential; a walkable, safe vibrant street. Our walk will evaluate the existing design and discuss potential for improvement, while visiting focal points of the community.

We will meet at St. Luke’s Park at Gladstone & Elgin.  From there, we will walk north on Elgin St to City Hall (Elgin & Lisgar).

Tom is president of the Centretown Citizens Community Association (CCCA), a volunteer-based organization that advocates, represents and promotes the interests of Ottawa's Centretown neighbourhood.  The walk is hosted by the CCCA’s Trees and Greenspace and Transportation Committees and will evaluate the built and natural environment to raise awareness about the upcoming Elgin Street Redesign.
