Complete Streets for Ottawa

Walk with Ecology Ottawa's Policy Coordinator and learn what "Complete Streets" are about and what we need to do to achieve them.

Ottawa is contemplating a Complete Streets policy that ensures pedestrians, cyclists, and public transit users are properly prioritized on our roads. We will visit some downtown Ottawa examples of streets that are on their way to becoming Complete as well as those that are already there. Participants will also learn more about Ecology Ottawa and its campaign for Complete Streets for Ottawa, and how it is individuals can get involved to help ensure streets—important public places—serve all their users better.

Beginning at the corner of William & York Streets, we will travel along Rideau to Metcalfe, then turn south, with a stop at Queen St., and then finish the walk at Laurier Ave.

Trevor is a Kanata resident and Policy Coordinator at Ecology Ottawa. Ecology Ottawa is running a campaign for Complete Streets for Ottawa. Trevor is also a father who wants his son to grow up in a city where Complete Streets are a reality, for all sorts of important environmental, social, and financial reasons.
